Christmas Decor Destinations in Huntsville, AL

Last month we told you about the different places you can go in Huntsville for a Christmas tree, and this month we are going to tell you about the places you can go to find inspiration for your other decorations. It isn’t too late to get into the holiday season, and thankfully Huntsville has many holiday light installations that can help you to get into the spirit of the season.

Even better, it will allow you to feel the magic that is in the air during this time of the year – even if we won’t exactly have a white Christmas.

Here are our choices for lighting installation and decor inspiration in Huntsville:

1. Galaxy of Lights

Galaxy of Lights is one of the best holiday lighting installations in the country. It has larger-than-life displays that

move and coordinate with the music. Not only that, but you’ll find non-seasonal characters from fairy tales and popular culture that kids will instantly recognize. Still, it is a great place for adults as well.

Through December 31, 2016, you can go drive around between the hours of 5:30 PM and 9:00 PM. You can also walk around and experience everything on foot, whatever fits your style.

This is one of the best traditions we have in Huntsville, so make sure you join in this year.

2. Hall Family Light Show

The Hall Family Light Show is bound to make you want to step up your decorating game this year. This is a family

home that has over 100,000 lights and 50 inflatables scattered throughout the yard. Every year they get bigger and better, trying to top themselves and impress even more people. We are lucky enough to have this in our backyard, as people come from miles and miles around just to see it.

This year, they are adding even more lights and sparkles to the outside of the home.

For a special treat, go on the weekends where you will see Santa and Rudolph greeting children and handing out candy canes.

The display is open November 24 – January 1, 2017. The lights are turned on at 5:00 PM every night. Sunday through Thursday they are on until 10:00 PM and 11:00 PM on Fridays and Saturdays.

Make sure to check their Facebook page for weather-related delays or outages.

If you are inspired by some of the holiday light displays on this list, reach out to Christmas Decor professionals. They have been lining homes and trees of Huntsville residents for years, giving them a hassle-free way to decorate, no matter how big or how small you want to go.

They are one of the best decorating companies in North America. If you have an idea for what to do to your home, they will be there to help you out and make your dreams a reality. If you don’t have any ideas for how your home should be decorated, they can help you there as well. The team is filled with fresh ideas that will match your style.

All of the products and techniques they use are of the highest quality, you won’t have lights going out in the middle of the season or strands swinging from the trees.

The best part is that there are many, many decorators you can choose from using this service.

4. Tinsel Trail

The Tinsel Trail is a lighting display in Downtown Huntsville, AL that uses live Christmas trees. This year, it is

expected that 250 trees will decorate Big Spring Park. We love this particular display because it promotes community and togetherness during this special time of the year. Each tree is sponsored by a local family, group, or corporation and it is decorated by whoever the sponsor is – which means you’ll find some amazingly unique displays.

The name of the sponsor and that company’s mission are proudly displayed so that everyone knows who did it – your family can even sponsor one! It is a great way for companies to publicize themselves as well.

You never know who you’ll spot at The Tinsel Trail, so make sure to stop by this year.

5.  Schwerman Christmas Tree Plantation

If you still haven’t purchased your Christmas tree for this year, you might want to get a bit of a move on: all of the best ones are bound to be picked out sometime soon. Luckily, Schwerman Christmas Tree Plantation still has some beautiful  Virginia or White Pine, Leyland Cypress, or Carolina Sapphire Christmas trees available to choose from for your family.

You’ll still be able to get that tree cutting experience, and the team at Schwerman Christmas Tree Plantation can help you with all of that. They can also net it and help you secure it to your vehicle, no matter how big or small your tree is.

6. Weeden House Museum Luminaries

The Weeden House Museum is a favorite place for many people in Huntsville because it continues on the history of

the area as well as motivates people to find a sense of home here. Every year, the Spirit of Christmas Past Homes and Luminary Tour is a hit with families of all kinds. This year, the tour is on Saturday, December 10, 2016, and it lasts from 5:00PM to 9:00PM.

During the tour, you stroll down candlelit streets and tour four different private homes while you’re immersed in the sights, sounds, and smells of Christmas. The way is lit with beautiful luminaries that have their own significance.

Everyone who attends the event will tell you just how special it is and how much it puts them into the holiday spirit. Even better, it reminds you of what Christmas used to be like when you were younger and the world seemed a little more magical.

7. Huntsville Santa

If you aren’t sure when or where you want to take your children to see Santa this year, Huntsville Santa offers up a complete calendar of events where he will pop up – some that are open to the public and some that aren’t. This is a unique feature to Huntsville and allows you to really get a personalized experience.

If you are having a family party or an office party and want Santa to come visit, you can even hire him.

This isn’t just a Santa that throws on a costume and a wig, no, Bob Boyer has spent hours and hour perfecting his Santa Claus, from his outfit to his infectious laugh. Even adults are shocked when they see just how much he matches the man in red.

You Aren’t the Only One Stressed By the Holidays

Not many people know it, but your trees can get stressed. Sometimes pruning your tree, infestations taking over, hanging Christmas lights on your tree, and even the weather can make them stressed out. One of the biggest offenses is road salt during the winter months.

Think of us at All Star Tree Service as doctors for trees – we are able to help cut down on the amount of stress and strain on the tree, making it happier and healthier. In turn, you will be safer and happier as well.

All Star Tree Service is proud to service Huntsville, AL and surrounding areas, including 35801, 35802, 35803, 35805, 35806, 35808, 35810, 35811, 35816 and 35824. If you want us to look at your trees this holiday season, give us a call and we can give you a free estimate.
